Strengthening Families – By Your Side

Every family needs some extra help from time to time. From discounted activity camps to specialist practical assistance, 'Strengthening Families – By Your Side' offers Royal Navy and Royal Marines families the right support at the right time. This programme has been developed by the RNRMC and Naval Families Federation, with additional funding support from the Armed Forces Covenant.

Deployment Support

Deployment is when a service person is serving away from home for a period of time. This could be on an operational tour of duty for 6 months or more, a training course or an exercise which could last for a few weeks. The Families Federations have collaborated with the Service Children In State Schools National Executive Advisory Committee to create this resource with useful links and signposting to raise awareness of the resources and organisations offering support to help children from an Armed Forces background during times of deployment.

New Families Hub- your one place for Service family support

The MoD’s new Families Hub is a “one stop shop” digital platform which signposts to helpful support, guidance and useful organisations. It offers Service families a wealth of information, guidance and support to help navigate Service family life. The Families Hub is for all Armed Forces (Regular and Reserve) personnel and families, wherever you are in your Armed Forces journey – from the moment you enter the Forces, through to when you leave. The significant role that Service families play in the Armed Forces community, and the unique pressures that can come with Service life, particularly in times of deployment and separation is fully recognised. To address the challenges faced by Naval families and the pressure Service Life can have there is a wide range of family friendly policies, guidance, and organisations that provide support. To find out what help is available, use the following link to take you to the new Families Hub
