GENERAL INFO ABOUT OUR SITES:

SIGNING CHILDREN IN AND OUT

To ensure the safeguarding and for fire regulations we have a clear system of registering the children. We ask all parents to sign a register with the time their child arrives and leaves the building. This procedure is also monitored by the office staff and the learning room supervisors.

LUNCHES

Children staying for full day care will need to bring in a packed lunch or join the school lunch scheme (term time only). Packed lunch can be sandwiches/rolls etc or your own pre-cooked meals which we are happy to heat up in the microwave. All staff have food hygiene qualifications and all packed lunch bags are stored in a fridge. We ask that you help us with our 'Healthy Eating' policy and provide healthy lunches, keeping sugary foods to a minimum! We also ask that you do not provide any products containing nuts as some children have severe nut allergies. School lunches are prepared at Ludgvan School and brought over to the nursery in purpose built boxes to keep them warm. School lunches cost £1.65 per day which is added to your invoice.

REFRESHMENTS - 'CAFÉ' STYLE

Children are provided with a healthy snack of fruit or vegetables with a rice cake, breadstick or cracker and milk or water to drink. An important part of our curriculum is 'being healthy' discussing foods and exercise and what might be necessary for a healthy lifestyle. We regularly plan in cooking, trying foods from various countries, a good way of involving the children in the different cultural aspects of our world.

OUTDOOR CLOTHING!

Outdoor play is an important part of our day and is very high on the agenda of the Early Years Foundation Stage. We operate a 'free flow' system where children can access both indoor and outdoor play by their own choice, which has received high praise from the Early Years service and OFSTED. It would be a great help to us if you could provide a rain coat and wellington boots to enable your child to access the outdoor area in all weathers!

We also keep spare waterproofs and wellies onsite.

INCLUSION

The Oasis Childcare Centre welcomes and is able to cater for children with Additional Needs and Disabilities, with designated SENCO's (Special Educational Needs Coordinators) within the nursery. We receive support from Cornwall Family Services Inclusion team including on-site visits from Early Years professionals such as Speech and Language Therapists to assist children/parents should they need it.

TAX-FREE CHILDCARE

Childcare Choices Website - For more info.

• For working families, including self-employed

• With children under 12 (or under 17 for disabled children)

If you’re a working parent with children under 12 (or under 17 for disabled children) you can open an online account to pay for registered childcare. The government will top-up the money you pay into the account. For every £8 you pay in, the government will add an extra £2. You can receive up to £2,000 per child, or £4,000 for a child with a disability.

You and your partner must earn, or expect to earn, the equivalent to 16 hours at the National Minimum or Living Wage, which equates to £152 a week for each parent. You will not be eligible for Tax-Free Childcare if you or your partner expect to earn £100,000 or more per year.

You cannot use Tax-Free Childcare at the same time as Childcare Vouchers, Universal Credit or Tax Credits. You can use it with the 15 and 30 hours schemes.
